Each year, August brings a new school year, new faces in our hallways, and new opportunities for students. This August also brings a new logo/brand and website to Lutheran West.
The new school logo is the result of many months of brand and market research conducted during the 2018-2019 school year. The initial foundtation for the new logo was designed in-house, with a professional branding firm enlisted to complete the design process.
In contrast to the previous logo, Lutheran West administration believes the new logo offers an "modern yet classic" look and contains symbolism that truly reflects the mission and values of the school.
The primary logos, shown to the right, will be utilized on all school communications and materials going forward. The exception to this is Longhorn Athletics, which will continue to use the longhorn logo (also recently redesigned in 2016).
The website, launched mid-August, features a brand new design and easy-to-use drop-down menus for improved site navigation and organization.
Current students and their families can find the vast majority of the information they require under the 'My West' link in the top right corner. Prospective families and those wishing to learn more about Lutheran West can do so under the 'About' and 'Admissions' sections of the site. Alumni and donors will also notice an improved section of the site dedicated to alumni events , giving options, and ways for alumni to maintain contact with Lutheran West. Fans of Longhorn sports will enjoy the new athletic pages, which have also been completely redesigned and improved for ease of use.
The website platform also allows the site to be mobile friendly, which is a feature that the previous website did not offer.
Principal Mike Waugh '02 is thrilled with the new look, saying, "The new branding truly reflects Lutheran West at its core -- its mission, values, and tradition are well-represented in the logo, and the new website offers much-needed improvements to the school's online presence."
