Merit-Based Scholarships: Academic

The Senney Honors Academy Presidential Scholarship
A $2,500 annually renewable scholarship awarded to two incoming freshmen. Incoming freshmen scoring at the 90th percentile or higher on the Lutheran West Admissions Test (October, November, and December tests only) will be invited to attend the Senney Honors Academy Presidential Scholarship Interview Day. The winners will be selected based upon their performance at the Senney Honors Academy Presidential Scholarship Interview Day. Candidates who are awarded this scholarship will be enrolled in The Senney Honors Academy.

The Donald Greve Academic Leadership Scholarship
A $1,000 annually renewable scholarship, recognizing academic distinction, awarded to one 8th grade graduate from each local Lutheran elementary school who will be attending Lutheran West.

Lutheran West Admissions Testing Scholarship
An annually renewable award given to each freshman student who achieves a composite score in the 85th National Percentile or higher on the Lutheran West Admissions Test. Scholarship recipients must maintain a yearly minimum 3.5 GPA to continue to receive this award.

Merit-Based Scholarships: Arts

Instrumental Music Scholarship
An annually renewable scholarship awarded to multiple students per academic year, with the maximum scholarship award being $1,500. Students may audition with the instrument of their choice. Audition registration with the Music Department is required. Auditions typically take place during the first week of February  for consideration for the following school year. Scholarship recipients must enroll in Band each year to receive the scholarship. Please contact Admissions for audition requirements and more information on scheduling your student's audition.

Vocal Music Scholarship
An annually renewable scholarship awarded to one or more students per academic year, with the maximum scholarship award being $1,500. Auditions typically take place during the first week of February for consideration for the following school year. Scholarship recipients must enroll in Choir each year to receive the scholarship. Please contact Admissions for audition requirements and more information on scheduling your student's audition. 

Art Portfolio Scholarship
An annually renewable scholarship awarded to one or more students per academic year. Students may submit an art portfolio (6-10 pieces created within the past two years) of their choice to the Art Department. Art portfolios are typically due in February for consideration for the following school year. Scholarship recipients must enroll in an Art Class each year to receive the scholarship. Note: The cumulative total for Lutheran West merit scholarships cannot exceed $2,500 per academic year. Non-merit based scholarships and Need-Based Tuition Assistance are considered separately and are not included in this limit.

Non-Merit Based Scholarships

Association Church Scholarship
A $2,500 annually renewable scholarship awarded to every student who is a member in good standing of an Association Congregation. A pastor’s signature is required each year to receive this scholarship. To view a list of current Association Churches, click here

Partner Church Scholarship
A $750 annually renewable scholarship awarded to every student who is a member in good standing of a Partner Congregation. A pastor’s signature is required each year to receive this scholarship. To view a list of current Partner Churches, click here.

Multiple Enrolled Student Scholarship
A $1,000 annually renewable scholarship awarded to the 2nd and 3rd student enrolled from the same family.

Christian Pastor Scholarship
An annually renewable scholarship equal to 25% of the current year's tuition (excluding fees) awarded to the student of a full-time Christian Pastor.

Christian Teacher Scholarship
An annually renewable scholarship equal to 25% of the current year's (excluding fees) tuition awarded to the student of a full-time teacher at a Christian school.

State of Ohio Department of Education Scholarships
 
The Cleveland Scholarship
The Cleveland Scholarship Program is provided by the Ohio Department of Education to families residing in the city of Cleveland with financial assistance if they desire to attend a private school. The Cleveland Scholarship amount is $7,500 for grades 9-12 and $5,500 for grades 6-8. The EdChoice Scholarship
The Educational Choice Scholarship (EdChoice) Program provides students from underperforming public schools the opportunity to attend participating private schools.  The EdChoice Scholarship amount is $7,500 for grades 9-12 and $5,500 for grades 6-8.  For complete details on the program, including eligibility requirements, list of designated schools, and how to apply for or renew an EdChoice Scholarship, click here.  The Lutheran West Scholarship Coordinator (440-333-1660) can also answer questions regarding this scholarship program. 

The EdChoice Expansion Scholarship
The Educational Choice Expansion Scholarship Program is an income-based program. It provides students in grades K – 12 the opportunity to attend a private school for little or no cost whose families meet the Federal Poverty Guidelines. This program is only open to students who do not qualify for the Educational Choice Scholarship. The EdChoice Expansion Scholarship amount is $7,500 for grades 9-12 and $5,500 for grades 6-8. For complete details on the program, including income requirements, and how to apply for or renew an EdChoice Expansion Scholarship, click here.
