A 21st Century Learning Environment for Students in Grades 6-12

High School Curriculum

Lutheran West offers a rich curriculum, providing college-preparatory academic courses and a diverse variety of electives. A core curriculum is supplemented by a robust offering of Honors/AP/CCP courses, which allow students to prepare for collegiate coursework and/or enjoy the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. All curricular areas at Lutheran West are approached with a Christian worldview.

If Honors/AP/CCP courses are not a good fit for a student, courses are available which teach and reinforce the foundational concepts in each subject area.

Students are offered tutoring and support services in areas they may find challenging, and are given proper preparation and instruction for the Ohio Graduation Test.

Elective curriculum offerings provide tremendous depth and variety. Lutheran West offers extensive curricular opportunities in art, music, technology, English, world languages, physical education, STEM fields, and practical arts. In all, Lutheran West offers over 90 distinct courses for high school students.

Middle School Curriculum

The middle school curriculum is designed to be immersive and prepare students for success in high school. Middle school students will take all courses, even electives, five days per week. In 7th and 8th grades, students are able to take select courses that will earn them high school credit. This in turn will translate to availability in their high school schedules to explore a wider breadth of electives and/or take College Credit Plus (CCP) courses to earn college credit while still in high school.
