Christian faith is the cornerstone of all aspects of the Lutheran West student experience.
Woven into curricular and extra-curricular activities, students are taught Christian principles both in theory and in practice. When asked what they appreciate most about their experience at Lutheran West, students and alumni cite the supportive Christian community and faith-centered environment.
Each week, students, faculty, and staff attend a school-wide Chapel service. During this time set apart for worship and reflection, our school community comes together to grow and celebrate their faith. Chapel services feature music from the Chapel Band, testimonies and messages from faculty/staff, students, alumni, and local community members.
Chapel also provides an ideal opportunity to make school-wide announcements, to come together in prayer, and to build the strength of the Lutheran West school community.
Each student takes a Faith Formation course during all years at Lutheran West. Subject areas discussed in Faith Formation courses include the history of the Christian faith, Christian principles, and Christian ethics.
The faith-centered structure of Lutheran West made it easy to find ways to serve others and make a real difference in my community. I’ll carry the faith foundation I formed at West with me throughout my life.
