Mrs. Judy Rolik Retires After 50 Years of Service to Lutheran West

May 29, 2026

Judy Rolik, longtime faculty member and School Counselor, has retired at the conclusion of her 50th school year serving Lutheran West.

Joining the faculty in 1976, Judy taught German and History through the mid-1980s. She earned her Master’s degree and transitioned to the Guidance/School Counseling Department, where she stayed for the duration of her career.

In her role with School Counseling, Judy managed the school’s master schedule, student course scheduling, testing coordination, records and transcripts, student support in emotional, social, and faith-based needs, and much more. She was instrumental in curriculum development at Lutheran West over the years, ensuring that the curriculum delivered to students consistently remained high-caliber and responsive to the evolving needs of education.

She spearheaded international travel tours for students, leading six tours throughout her years at Lutheran West. On one of those trips, the group stayed abroad for three full weeks.

Judy also served as a timer for the women’s basketball program, participated in faculty prayer groups and Bible studies, and helped with costume design for the drama department.

Head of School Joel Bahr says, “Judy Rolik is legendary at Lutheran West. If you’ve been involved in the Lutheran West community at any point in the last 50 years, you’ve interacted with Judy, and been better for it. She is a shining example of dedication to Lutheran education and to Christian service. Her genuine care for each and every student will be missed, but Lutheran West was so very blessed to have her for so many years. We wish her all the best in her retirement.”

Judy and husband Dolph have a daughter, Katie, who is a member of the Lutheran West Class of 2012. They have been blessed with a grandson. Judy is actively involved in volunteering for her church.
