Mrs. Kathie Courtney
Mrs. Courtney, who teaches Spanish at Lutheran West, knew from a young age that she would one day work as a teacher. She went on to study education at Bowling Green State University and has been ministering as a teacher ever since. Having taught every level from preschool to adult basic education, she realized that teenagers were her favorite. In addition to her teaching experience, she has gained a vast amount of cultural experience from spending time as a missionary in Guatemala and traveling all over the world for education and pleasure. Kathie loves coming home to her husband, Scott, an English teacher at Lutheran East, and her two sons. She counts her ministry as a Spanish teacher at Lutheran West as a joy and a privilege.
Mrs. Caroline Pangrace
Caroline Pangrace never imagined that her teaching would be considered a ministry, but she believes firmly that God planned her vocation and led her to Lutheran West. She earned her B.A. in German from the University of Mount Union and a Masters of Arts in Teaching (German K-12) from Kent State University. Caroline then came to Lutheran West and now teaches all German classes as well as sections of New Testament and Church History. In addition to teaching, she also serves as our school's Drama Director and heads up the international summer trips for students and parents that are offered through Lutheran West. She is an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Parma, where she serves as a youth leader and co-director of Vacation Bible School. Caroline feels blessed to have grown so much personally and to see her students and former students grow themselves during her years at West. She is excited to continue her ministry and see what God has in store for the future.
