Men's Basketball Coach: Al Januzzi

Coach Alan Januzzi has a long resume when it comes to coaching basketball.  He was first a head coach at Open Door Christian Academy were he took a team that had won three games in the last two years.  Within five years, Januzzi was coaching his Patriots team in the State Semi-final match, falling in the final four matchup to the eventual Division IV champions from Marion.   

He moved on from Open Door to Elyria Catholic looking for a challenge to turn around a struggling Panther program.  EC had struggled in the North Coast-White Division and Januzzi was able to see the team become competitive and even  over five hundred against the likes of St.Peter Chanel, VASJ, and Cleveland Central Catholic.   

In 2010, Januzzi served as an assistant at Firelands HS.  

Januzzi was named Cleveland Plain Dealer Coach of the Year two different times, the Lorain County Coach of the Year three times, and District Coach of the Year twice over his career.
