Firelands -- 
Lutheran West traveled away from the friendly confines of Booster’s Club Field yesterday for the first time on the young season. It was not an experience that they would be likely to want to repeat. LW fell to host Firelands 10-0, never managing to get a runner to second base in the entire game. 
West got two hits—one from sophomore Derek Naim to lead off the second and one from sophomore Aaron Geye in the third. Neither made it to second as Naim lasted one batter—freshman Andrew O’Hara banged into a double play to wipe Naim off—and Geye got caught stealing. LW did manage three other base runners—two errors and a walk—but none were able to move up even one base.
Meanwhile, senior Jake Dersi (L, 1-1) had little more success on the mound. The first four Falcon hitters of the game reached base with three of them scoring—thanks to a double, two walks, and a bases clearing double.    Dersi ran into more trouble in the third when he gave up three runs on four hits.
LW has a week off for Easter before hosting Buckeye next Wednesday.
