ROCKY RIVER --  Senior Billy Valletto broke out of his two year slump with three hits, and senior Cal Thomay kept Brooklyn at bay all game as LW stormed to its third win in a row in a 12-2 blowout victory on getaway day at Alumni Field in Rocky River. With the team scheduled to leave on a trip to Cincinnati for games on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, LW took care of business in their first conference game of the year.

Brooklyn starting pitcher Gary Manning kept his team in the game by only allowing three runs in the first three innings, but LW knocked him out of the game with a six spot in the fourth. While it took LW two more innings to accumulate the runs necessary for a ten run mercy rule, for all intensive purposes the game was over after the fourth.

Valletto had a game high three hits.

Thomay picked up his first win of the year with five innings of one run work. He struck out five.
