My four years at Lutheran West truly helped to mold me into the man I have become. A huge contributing factor to that growth is Lutheran West’s athletic program.

Often people associate smaller schools with poor athletic programs and assume that collegiate sports scholarship opportunities will be limited for students who attend smaller schools. My football experience clearly shows differently.

After having attended and played football at Lutheran West for 4 years, I selected the University of Toledo and its Business Program. I contacted the head coach and began to explore the possibilities of being a walk-on for the team as a long snapper.

As a walk-on I worked hard and competed for the position and just a few weeks later found myself on a plane to Arizona with the team to start in the first game of the season! Continued hard work and commitment paid off, ultimately leading to a full scholarship. I credit the Lutheran West coaches for instilling how important it is to work hard and pursue your dreams.

Lutheran West prepares students tremendously well for moving on to college. The teachers are extremely committed to educating the students and ensuring their success. Every teacher went above and beyond what was expected. They never settled for sub-par work, which in turn motivated students like me to do their best in the classroom. Both through academics and sports, my experience at Lutheran West has indeed impacted my life positively and immensely.
