My Passion for Ministry

Outside of salvation, children are God’s greatest gift to parents. I consider it a great privilege to partner with parents in the process of raising God-fearing young men and women. Since starting my career in teaching and coaching, God has led me into leadership roles in administration. First as an athletic director, then as principal, I have had the opportunity to mold and shape programs to meet the needs of our youth.

As executive director and principal of Los Angeles Lutheran Middle-Senior High School I had the responsibility of developing a program that fit an academically and racially diverse student body and I came to appreciate the differences in people. I thoroughly enjoyed the International program we established with its unique blend of cultures. I am delighted to share those experiences in my position here at West. It is my privilege to continue to shape our program as we minister to students and families in this changing culture. Hiring and mentoring the finest Christian teachers around is my primary responsibility today.

Educational Background

I obtained a B.S. in education from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska with a major in chemistry and a minor in math. After serving in a Lutheran school in Illinois I returned to Seward to earn a M.S. in education with an emphasis on administration. In addition, I have participated in a study tour of Lutheran schools in Asia as well as the Oxford Round Table in Oxford, England.
